This morning i had to go back for more blood tests , after yesterdays hounding the unit! Turns out my Hemoglobin has dropped even more ( i just knew ) So now they are trying to find a space/place for me to get a blood transfusion done , all being well it will be Friday they think , my nearest hospital , the one i attend clinic at cant fit me in till the end of the month!! I said no way could i wait that long. Anyway i have been told they will ring me tomorrow with a place and date , lets hope its soon !!

OH NO!!! I have Furniture Disease as well ! My chest has dropped into my drawers !

I certainly do hope it's soon. The end of the month?? WTH?? I also hope that the transfusion will help get you back some energy.

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old) Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps) Cadaveric transplant 1985 New upper-arm fistula April 2008 Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008 Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008 (2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly) Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes. Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009 First failed kidney transplant removed Apr. 2009 Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Kickstart, I am sorry you have had to wait so long for a solution. This is crazy. After the transfusion, will you be getting epo shots plus iron? Seems like they need to help you get your levels stablized so this doesn't keep happening. I'm sorry you have been feeling so bad Hope it all gets better very soon.

That's the NHS for you - it might be 'free' (although we do all pay through taxes) but it can be so slow. Keeping my fingers crossed for you Kickstart

I hope they will get you the right treatment soon so you will start feeling better. I don't know how you do it. You must be sooooo tired. My hemo level has been 11.5 the last few months and I barely manage.

I've been following your posts and am SO GLAD your finally getting the blood transfusion!! It's hard to believe how long you had to wait too and for them to even suggest you wait till the end of the month? It just started!! incredibly frustrating!! Maybe you should also have your vitamin B12 levels checked too? Marley
