Was in the Hospital
«

Last Friday, the 11th, I had to have another angioplasty on my graft. The angio went fine but they couldn't put a stent in because the stenosis is right where I bend my leg at the groin.
As I was walking out of the hospital after the angio I started having a horrible pain all around my abdomen - like someone put a vise around me and was squeezing it. I went straight to bed when I got home but the pain would not ease up. I took 2 vicodin and they didn't even touch it. A few hours I took 2 more - nothing. By this time, the pain had settled onto my right side only and it was so intense, I needed help to get in and out of bed to use the bathroom. I missed my Friday evening dialysis.
Saturday morning, my urine was thick and cloudy. The pain had not let up. I knew it was time to go to the E.R. I had a kidney infection. I got 4 and a half days of IV antibiotics and am on 10 days of Cipro at home. Came home Wednesday afternoon. This was the worst and most painful kidney infection I have ever had and it came on so fast!
I'm glad to be back.

Glad you are back Gramapat. Now you take it easy and get some rest. I know first hand that you don't get any in a hospital. Keep us updated.

I haven't been getting out much lately - too hot, I'm tired, etc. - you know all the excuses.
Well, after this hospital stay, I've decided to at least make the effort. I went out today to a 1st birthday party in the park. It was a real effort to get ready but when I was finally there, I had fun! I felt good enough to stay for a few hours and even though it was hot, I enjoyed myself.
I am really going to try to get out more often!!

That's good to hear. I often have that experience of not really feeling like doing something but being very happy I did once I'm there.
