Saw the surgeon today, had ultra sound on fistula. The reason the upper part of it hasn't matured is I have a narrowing of the vein so he said `balloon' and my first thought was a `parrtaay, with cake and funny hats. Wait ,that isn't what I thougt,it was OUCH as what I have read this can be painful. He will try to open it up with wires and the balloon and if that doesn't work ,he will make an incision and open it surgecially. Any way I will be in hospital over night(yummy hospital food, can't wait) and will be dialyzied before coming home Friday. I have never had a treatment anywhere but the center but I am sure(there is nothing in the closet says the frightened child) everything will be fine.

PDpatty hope everything goes well. I'd worry more about the food than the surgery.

Me too. Hope it is better than Adena's food here in Chillicothe. That stuff is deadly awful!

pdpatty it's called a fistulagram, i've just had my second 1 done, if they balloon it, make sure you get anisthetic, cause the ballooning hurts like hell. good luck with it all. i'm off to the surgeons next tuesday, yummy hospital food for me too

Patty...seriously, avoid anything with gravy...it;s just a trick to make whatever it is look better! The ballooning is no biggie...had it twice, but never in a hospital so was in and home in a few hours. But you'll do great...and we;ll be here when you get back!!

Best of luck paddy! Keep us posted of your return and recovery. Have the pudding... can't tell what flavor it is or color for that matter but the taste is... well. that's debatable too. Anyway. good luck and good health! ; -Devon

Good luck Patty - I hope it's easier than it sounds - stick with the Jello, they can't hide much in there!
