Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« on: November 15, 2007, 08:51:55 PM »

Has anyone heard of, or are using Via Vienté?  It is a health drink in a bottle that looks like a wine bottle with a bunch of grapes on it.  Well, there is this lady at dialysis whom I had been complimenting from time to time.  She had started to look so much younger, etc.    AFter a time, she gave me a DVD which introduced me to this drink.  You drink 1 or 2 oz once or twice per day.  She told me that she had been taking it for 3 months, but didn't want to say anything until she saw how it worked.  She didn't even tell the nephro.  But she has had such good results.  She is even urinating much more, she says.
Well, one day I had to be on another shift because I was travelling.  A guy there asked me if I knew about it.  He was taking it also.  He said that his BP which had been hard control, even with added medication, was now under control and the doctor had even stopped his medication.
The lady gave me a bottle and I have been using it.  I just wanted to know if you guys know about it and what you think.  It is quite expensive, between $50 and $60 per 25 oz bottle.

Sounds like a pyramid scam to me, but decide for yourself:
According to their corporate webpage http://www.viaviente.com/ : ViaViente is a blend of natural whole fruit purees, minerals and herbs that is high in antioxidants.  We invite you to take the ViaViente 12 Week Challenge: Enjoy ViaViente every day for 12 consecutive weeks to experience the health benefits of this great tasting fruit puree for yourself.
ViaViente contains the following Antioxidant-Rich PhytoNectars:

    Aloe Vera
    Apple
    Bilberry
    Blueberry
    Cranberry
    Elderberry
    Grape
    Noni
    Prune
    Chinese Scullcap Root
    Gentain Root

These PhytoNectars are pureed in a base of mineral water from high with the same mineral profile as the spring water found in the Andes Mountains in the Vilcabamba Village.

As with any other product (especially dubious ones) that are claiming to do what regular vitamins and minerals cannot do (and is EXPENSIVE) - it is best to be wary.

The other problem is that this product is sold only by word of mouth, so that the people selling it need to bring in new people to sell it to be profitable. They have Terry Bradshaw hawking it on their video describing "How You Can Take Control of Your Financial Destiny!" Here's more info from one distributor:

How You Can Make an Extra $300 a Month

We could all use some extra cash – whether it's to pay down some credit cards, make a car payment each month, save for a dream vacation, or boost your ability to put away something each month for your child's education. With ViaVienté, it's as straightforward as recommending a good movie or restaurant to a friend.

Here's a simple, theoretical example of how it works:

   1. First, become a Preferred Customer today and start using the ViaVienté Product. (Click here to learn more about the power of this all–natural, whole-food fruit juice!)
   2. Next, start sharing the benefits you discover from the product with your family and friends. Whether you find you have more energy, or fewer aches and pains, or you sleep better at night, the product can deliver something for virtually everyone.
   3. As a Preferred Customer, you'll receive $25 a month for each 3–bottle order placed by another Preferred Customer you referred. (You get $40 for each 6–bottle order!) Imagine; when just 5 of your customers make a 3–bottle purchase in a month, you'll make enough to practically get your own product for FREE! With just 12 customers who order 3–bottles or more, you'll be making at least $300 a month!
There's no other commitment than that. Just order product and help others do the same. It's that simple!
I'm here to help you in any way I can to achieve virtually every financial goal you could conceivably desire. Just click on the "Join Now" button below and let's get you started today! If you have any questions, just click the "Contact Me" button and I'll be in touch with you shortly.

Sounds crazy - the bottles cost $50 to $100 each - and are basically fruit puree and mineral water. Brings to mind the cautionary quote: "If it sounds too good to be true, it is."

You can go to a health food store and buy most of those ingredients yourself, for far less $$$.

A fruit drink with all those ingredients would also be high in phosphates, so dialysis patients would have to be careful to limit their intake.
