It's when the acids in your stomach go up into your esophagus and cause damage. I assume you're talking about acid reflux, right?

And in case you were wondering, 'Kidney Reflux':

Each kidney has a tube called a ureter. Urine leaves the kidneys via the ureters and enters the bladder for temporary storage. There is a valve at the meeting point between each ureter and the bladder to prevent the backflow of urine into the kidneys.

Kidney reflux means that one (or both) of these valves is not working properly. During urination, the urine travels (refluxes) up the affected ureter to the kidney instead of flowing out of the body. This increases the likelihood of infections and other problems.

I started having this burning in my chest so I thought I was having heart problems associated with my Dialysis.  It turns out I have acid reflux too.  I take Protonix every day and only have occasional issues.

Before I started taking it I had an episode where I couldn't breathe.  I ended up throwing up to clear my airway and relieve some of the acid.

Yes, you're right, gross.

:thumbup; Thanks for your replies everone. I had an idea it wasn't just acid reflux being talked about, just didn't know it was about ureter problems.
