how does everyone feel about doing things for the National Kidney Foundation as a Kidney patient? I have an opportunity to be an intern for the National Kidney Foundation in either Miami or Orlando. I really want to do this as I've done work for the NKF since I was 11 years old. Rich Salick is a good friend. He started the NKF Labor Day surf fest in Cocoa Beach. I work that weekend for them and am so happy during and after for weeks that I just want MORE! This year as I'm old enough and know how to do it the Head of the Florida NKF if Orlando asked if I'd be intrested. I said  'yes' but that I would need until the beginning of the year to start. As i'm trying to get on the list and am havening trouble with my arm. They said okay. I really want to do this but am scared and am not sure what to do. They know me there and if I mess up or they don't see who I really am then they might think twice of fire me. I needc help on making this decision. If anyone works for the Foundation please help me with this? Or if u have any idea on how to get me through this without compromising who I am please help?
thanks in advance

Someone recently told me that the New York Headquarters on the NKF has 150 employees - and not one of them is a kidney patient. I don't know if this is true, and I am not sure how to find out.
If you know who you will be working with and you admire them, it could be a good opportunity.
