Here is something from back in the day they gave us on  how to make your own spice mixtures.  Circa 1987   ;)


Savory Seasoning                                         Spicy Seasoning                                         Mexican Seasoning
 
1 1/4 tsp celery seed                                    3 Tbsp celery seed                                     6 Tbsp chili powder
2 Tbsp crushed marjoram                               1 Tbsp onion powder                                 2 Tbsp ground cumin
2 Tbsp crushed savory                                   1 tsp    garlic powder                                 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
2 Tbsp crushed thyme                                   2 Tbsp crushed oregano                             1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp crushed basil                                      1 Tbsp  crushed thyme                               Optional additions:
                                                                  1 1/2 tsp  ground bay leaf                            3/4 tsp thyme
                                                                  1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper                      3/4 tsp oregano
                                                                  1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves                               3 tsp basil
                                                                                                                                   1/2 tsp pepper
                                                                                                                                   1 tsp cayenne powder


Oriental Seasoning                                             Seafood Seasoning

2 Tbsp onion powder                                         4 tsp dried parsley
2 Tbsp garlic powder                                          2 Tbsp dried crushed chives, dill or tarragon
2 Tbsp ground ginger                                         1 1/2 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp ground pepper                                        1/2 Tbsp dried lemon peel
                                                                        Optional additions:
(use 1/4 or 1/2 tsp per pound of meat,                 1 1/2 tsp dried mustard
fish or poultry.)                                                   1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
                                                                         1 tsp ground ginger
                                                                        (Use 2 tsp per pound of fish)


Middle Eastern Seasoning

1 tsp ground corriander
1 tsp ground cumin
1 Tbsp tumeric powder
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp paprika
1/4 cayenne pepper

Thanks BigSky, this is great.  I get a little tired of just using pepper.  This will be nice to try.

Thanks so much for this!  It's nice to have something different than the Mrs. Dash seasonings I normally use.

Wife to Rob who is currently doing Nx Stage Home Hemo Dialysis.

11/17/09 After 4 years on dialysis, Rob received a kidney from our George.  Kidney is working great!  YEAH!!!!
