I am one with you now my arm is in pain. Two needles they stick right into my vein. The cream helps a little numbs the giant spot. The last ones the worst. Does it work or not?  My arm goes limp, the thrill is on fire. The blood is being sucked, big machine will never tire. I start to ache from my arm sitting still. Can't help but wonder, "Why isn't there a pill?"  If only we could sleep through the entire thing. How nice it would be to nap like a king. Awoke after four hours having to hold the site. Just a dull thump now, can't give up the fight. I stare out the window and wonder how long. It's been over a year i am not that Strong. Many have left never to return. I can sense their spirit as i sit and burn.  Maybe it's a blessing no more beep of the machine. For where you are now your blood is all clean. A new face appears in your empty chair. He complains of cramps and the chill in the air. The new person sits, a tear runs down his cheek. His face says it all week after week. He stares at his tubes and the blood that flows. Looks at the others, in his heart he knows.  They tell him that soon they must work on his arm. "Why he asks, won't that do me more harm?" He stares at the ceiling and says, "How can this be?" I'm sorry my friend now your just like me.    Keith

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Going through life tied to a chair!

Keith there is so much truth to your poem.  Some would call it negative or not the best attitude.  I call it real.  Keep them coming.
