I've come down with something thats making me feel like hell, severe abdominal pain coupled with severe virtigo, went to emergency on Tuesday and they did blood test and Xray but found no problem their solution was to take more opiods and tylenol, had a terrible dialysis session on Wednesday and am not feeling up to dialysis tomorrow (Friday) i just want to throw up and go to bed ,what to do?

Go. If you are not well enough for dialysis, they will tell you. If not, they will find a way to make dialysis more comfortable for you. Maybe a little gravol through the line, if you are not allergic. It will help you sleep through the treatment

Problem with sleeping during dialysis is the nurses will wake you up as soon as you nod off thinking you have passed out.

I learn so much here! At my clinic, we sleep and no one worries, so long as your BP keeps going!

We get to sleep at our clinic too. I try to stay awake the first hour, then sleep about an hour to an hour and a half. Newspaper reading and music and the time usually goes pretty fast.

Mine too. I tend to nod off somewhere in the second or third hour, and usually not for long, 20 minutes at most, enough to miss the good parts of whatever movie I was watching. *L*

I rarely sleep, watching and doing things on my laptop. So those times I do manage to nod off my Nurse is almost immediately touching me to wake me up making sure I am alright.
I've skipped once sick and not willing to get that far from my bathroom. Otherwise I go to treatments.
I am more concerned with the cause. An intestinal 'Bug' can severely affect many people and not show on any blood or urine test. Stool samples have to be taken and the Lab has to grow a culture to identify that bug.
It wasn't that long ago that I first tried using..... Qwap, I forgot the name. That generic pill that helps stop diarrhea. Although Dr's have differing opinions about using it . Some believing the body wants to flush out the bad bacteria so it may be beneficial to finish purging. While others think after a sufficient amount of purge and fear of dehydration, it is permissible to use the generic med to stop the diarrhea.
Both are right.
