before dialysis did any one have  problems with itchy ears and or eyes due to kidney failure? My inner ears itch like theres an ants nest in there,and in the past couple of weeks my vision has deteriorated also along with the ever present itch./
Did dialysis cure the problem?

First a question: What killed your kidney? Was it either high blood pressure or badly controlled diabetes? If it was either of those, read on. If it was something else entirely, ignore this post.

The way high blood pressure and poorly controlled diabetes damages your kidneys also works on your eyes. I have this problem due to high blood pressure. If you have either high blood pressure or diabetes, bring your problem to an eye doctor immediately (NB not an optician, a proper eye specialist at a hospital). If treated your eyes will go on working for decades, if untreated you will go blind in a few years. See an eye doctor ASAP.

Good advice, Paul. Here in the US we have Ophthalmologists specifically skilled and equipped to treat problems and diseases of the eyes. They are different than the Optometrist who simply check our vision when needing a lens prescription for new glasses. Ophthalmologists use equipment to look deep into the back of eyes for inflammation or signs of injury and disease. If a person is diabetic, they should see an Ophthalmologist.

I am not diabetic and I didn't have high blood pressure until ESRD (now very well-controlled), but I did have watery, itching ear canals and burning eyes.  Now on HHD, I have far, far less instances of either. When the burning eyes hit, it feels like a salt burn, and I can't keep my eyes open. Doc just checked my eyes/retinas and gave me a glowing health report.  My assumption is that is is a side effect of low sodium --but my labs show it as only slightly low.  Even commercial saline tears burn somewhat.  But like I said, it's better and less frequent than before.

 I've had diabetes for 20 years,its not well maintained. i also have high blood pressure also not well maintained however since the stroke i've been taking it all a lot more seriously. I have macular degeneration which is being controlled with shots of Avastin every 5 weeks. not sure how dialysis willl change my situation.
