Hi everyone,
So Ive been experiencing a lot of weekness latley. Especially when I wake up. My arms feel so tired and weak and when i get out of bed my legs feel like they might give out. Its also weird to me how weak my jaw is like opening my mouth to speak is tiring and even eating. This has been happening for a week now. It used to be on and off and now its been happening eveeyday now.

I know muscle weakness is a symptom of "high Potassium".  When was your last lab draw for Potassium?

A lack of Iron or reduced red cell count can cause weakness and lack of energy. Both of these should be reported in your monthly Labs.

I often have a very low Vit D. I take one type daily, 1000 MG and another type at treatment 3 X week.  I don't remember the names without looking them up.

I often wonder about B Complex Vitamins, if they will have an effect on our energy levels.  I remember a friend used to take B shots from his Pet Vet friend.  Swore it made a huge difference for him.

A lack of Iron

When I first started on dialysis (HD) I was on EPO after each dialysis (3 times a week) and liquid iron once or twice a month through the machine. I got really tired legs often. For unrelated reasons I switched to one standard drug store iron tablet every day (same EPO as before). Rarely get the tired legs now. Also, several people have commented that I am walking better since then. So you may want to try daily iron, see if that helps.

Sorry, should have added: You are on EPO aren't you? Lack of EPO (or the wrong dose) can cause tiredness too.

Labs are closely watched. I used to get iron when i first started hemo which was back in feb yuck u could taste it lol. And i get epo every week have been on it since I was 14. Yesterday when i would talk my i would keep biting my toungue because it seemed like it was just too tired. I told my useless doctor today and he just says "well Im stumped"... back when I had extreme rib pain I expressed it to the nurse. She thought i was gonna tell the doctor... I didnt even bother I just suffered until it was gone he doesnt help at all honestly. And  not gonna change my doctor unless o change my shift which isnt happening it gives me anxiety if i change it yet still see him at the clinic. Should i go to a general doctor?

The interpretation of your lab work is only as good as the "useless" doctor who is reading them.

Rather than a General Dr, I would think an Endocrinologist may know far more about the inter-related systems of your body.

I see one as well as a Rheumatologist for my Gout.

Not to mention Vascular for my poor circulation, Cardiologist, ortho.  I'm beginning to think they ALL are making a career out of seeing me!

Hello Aisha.Dar,
... These symptoms of yours, are they on both sides of your body or do they appear "only" on one side?
I am asking, because when I suffered a stroke, the whole right side of my body was affected and paralyzed and the right side of my mouth was also paralyzed, which made eating/drinking almost impossible. I was also practically unable to swallow food or drink in a proper fashion an d the stroke also made me unable to speak and when, after a long time, I started speaking a little again, I still mixed up all different languages in one sentence... It was a very confusing and extremely frustrating  time and I am so grateful that my husband studied vigilantly all sorts of stroke-rehabilitation-books, which enabled him to help and assist me intellectually and physically to slowly get on my feet again...
Best wishes from Kristina  :grouphug; and please let us know the findings of your doctor ...

Sounds like you have severe anemia, or that your hemoglobin is very low

Hi Aaisha I would ring a dr to explain how you are feeling. Your calcium sounds a bit low (even when I don't know your pth) before your doctors are on sceleton staff rota.
