Reason for high venous line pressure

After a long time, my mother's venous line pressure was running over 300 today and she had a chest pain too during the treatment. They tried reducing the speed which didn't help and they stopped the treatment. The dialysis tech said she could have stenosis and wanted to follow up with vascular. My mother has buttonholes established. I read that narrowing could cause the pressures to go up. Could bad cannulation cause high pressures as well? Or did anyone have similar experiences?

It is poss that the needle is touching the vessel wall, or stenosis that can cause high venous pressure. So a vascular scan is a good idea.

Yes, they did a scan and found out she has narrowing in 3 different places. The nephrologist recommends a tunneled catheter to be put in, but with my mom's current blood infection I am not sure if that is a good idea now. The vascular surgeon is thinking about doing an emergency surgery to fix the narrowing. It has been 3 days since she has been dialyzed. I am very worried. Hopefully they wouldn't put a catheter to my mother at this situation.
