Just wondering if any of you lovely people have this, have heard of it and if so know the caused it?
We are pretty sure 99% the cause has been solvent use and possibley the beginning may have been
being initiated as an apprentice plumber by being painted all over the torso with Blue/green solvent cement!! (I believe this is no longer used in the UK & USA but is still in use in Australia)
Being that the kidneys have declined over many years...first the psoriasis after being painted, migraines, peripheal neuropathy
and finally end stage kidney failure!

Thanks in advance

In some cases, Pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis is a component of a systemic vasculitis such as Microscopic polyangiitis, Churg–Strauss syndrome or Wegener's granulomatosis.[2] In many cases however, it is limited to the kidney and is thus called idiopathic.

Pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis.

Chan PT1, Mok CC.

Author information

Abstract
Pauci-immune necrotizing glomerulonephritis is a form of a rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis that is associated with the anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA). ANCA-associated pauci-immune glomerulonephritis may be secondary to rheumatic diseases. We report on a patient with limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis who presented with subacute onset of nephritic syndrome and renal insufficiency. Her myeloperioxidase ANCA titer was elevated and renal biopsy confirmed pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis, which was stabilized with high-dose glucocorticoid and cyclophosphamide. ANCA-associated necrotizing glomerulonephritis is rarely reported in systemic sclerosis and a systematic review is presented.

Thank you for your reply obsidianom.
In terms I can understand ... would you associate solvent poisoning with this type of kidney disease?
I have found one instance of a plumber with this same disease.... but as with many of the treating doctors, they want to
help cure you but they are not so interested in what has caused it....seems ironic that first came the psioriasis, then the neuropathy, then the kidney failure at almost same time...

I found in my reading about it that this syndrome can occur even in young children, so it can occur without any obvious reason. The psoriasis can occur with it as both are immune mediated syndromes.
That said, no one knows what triggers auto immune syndromes in any person. Sometimes it is genetics , sometimes environmental. So yes chemicals "may " cause it but we dont know for sure. In the end what causes it doesnt matter as much to the patient with it ,as much as how to treat it.
