Aloha Talker, the hospital that I do my dialysis in is a Japanese Hospital here in Okinawa.
When I first started there my first response to my Doctor was where are the dialysis chairs? Response was sorry but only beds here, now the beds we are talking about are made for the Japanese and with a very thin mattress and manual cranks to adjust the head, height, and legs. They have a few beds that has a motor to adjust the head position. So I complained about the hardness of the mattress and wanted only the beds with the electric remote and thicker mattress.
The cool thing is that my Doctor approached me one day as I'm laying there, and mentioned that he had purchased a dialysis chair by Paramount so now they try to give me the chair everyday, I do 6 days at 3 hours.
Also like yours the staff and doctors are excellent, only the communication is difficult at times, but with my limited Japanese vocabulary we get by great. I always greet them with a hello and when done thank them for their help and
work.
