Hi,my name is Kim and I was dx with ckd about a year and half ago. I'm 37 and just recently found out my GFR is now at 17. My neph referred me to
OSU for kidney transplant. ( I live in Ohio) my
Neighbor filled out the paperwork and got the call yesterday
That they r gonna run our blood and tissue to see if
We are a match. I am scared, nervous. Ugh.
My neph says that I will probably b going on PD
Soon. Which also scares the crap outta me.
I have been checking out this website for awhile
And it comforts me that there are so many people
On this site that have been through much.

 :welcomesign; Kim.

PD is going well for my Husband.  We have been doing it for five months.  The anxiety of the whole situation is a lot worse than the actual dialysis.  You will be just fine.   :flower;

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.

Hi Kim, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  Keep us posted on your blood matching results.  There is more to it then just blood.  Your friend will have to qualify by health too.  Best of luck and come here and post and READ.

There are quite a few people on IHD who use PD and who like it just fine.  Good luck with your prospective donor!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up on my
Possible donor. I will find out for sure by the
End of april. If not a match than pd for this
Girl. I'm actually ok with going on pd. Everything
Happens for a reason right?
Thank you to everyone on this site. I think
You guys are great :)

Hello kimmie,

at first it is overwhelming and can be very frightening
but we share our ESRF experiences and studying our situation makes it much less frightening...

... You are always welcome to ask us anything you would like to ask us and to share your experiences with us...

good luck and welcome from Kristina...
