Hello all!
I am not going through dialysis but I do have an AV Fistula and this is why I signed up here.
my AVF was formed because I have Haemophilia and my veins have been abused for nearly 29 years.
This is my second AVF, the first I had formed about 12 years ago but only lasted a couple of years before steal syndrome set in so my current AVF was formed and the original tied off.
Over the last few years my arm has become enlarged and covered in what looks like thread veins, the sort you normally see on your face. I've had it scanned and there is a lot of pressure in the veins and the anastomosis doesn't work as efficiently as it should.
Recently I have found some areas of my arm where there are more pronounced veins that are close to the surface become warm and itchy.
This is the reason for signing up here, I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this?
I hope this is ok.?
