Hi all,
I am Albert. I started dialysis on Oct. 18 2013. I never went in center: I went straight to the Home Dialysis Training Center in Bartonsville, Pennsylvania. I have to say that The staff there, specifically Roxy and Karen, are golden. They made a very difficult transition bearable They held my hand, so to speak, and carried me along.
I started out with a Catheter because my fistula was not mature. then after about 3 weeks we switched to sharps and catheter (to give the fistula time to mature). Finally we ended up with 15 gauge sharps then blunts.
I have been at home for about 1.5 months. It is great and I hate it... if you know what I mean...
In any case I hate paper work so I asked for a copy of the flow sheet to be able to do it on the laptop. What I got was a mess excel spreadsheet.
I converted it to a PDF form that you can fill out on a computer. If you are interested see here:
http://AlbertLotito.com/hhdI have a friend that was testing for transplant. The bloodwork showed her as an excellent match. Sadly after further medical testing they found blood and sugar in her urine... So much for that...
My sister called and the transplant coordinator told her that she would no be good expect as a last resort. Apparently she is too small (height and weight). Then my other sister called and we are scheduling blood work...
And So It Goes.
In the mean time I do my thing 5 days a week...
Digitronically Yours,
Albert
