Everyone I know even feel sorry for me or treat me like I'm dying because I'm on dialysis. I just want to talk to someone that gets what I'm going through but don't look at me as just a dialysis patient. I like cooking and drawing and laughing and having fun see those other things about me fr

I can barely draw a straight line, so I admire anyone who enjoys drawing.

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go. 
He had a transplant in November 2019.

You've come to the right place. *G*

We talk about just about everything here, and not all of it is dialysis related.  When you get into a conversation about the cute things cats do, or something along those lines, it's easy to forget that you're talking to a group of dialysis patients.

Another good thing about this board is that if you have a question, there is bound to be someone who can answer it for you.  It's one of the things I love about this place.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

1983 high proteinloss in urine, chemo, stroke,coma, dialysis
1984 double nephrectomy
1985 transplant from dad
1998 lost dads kidney, start PD
2003 peritineum burst, back to hemo
2012 start Nxstage home hemo
2020 start Gambro AK96

       still on waitinglist, still ok I think

I so get it! I refuse to talk medical stuff with my family (specifically my mom) for the most part because they seem so focused on it that they seem to forget that I'm 95% like everyone else with a job, life, friends, house, etc. I get the impression sometimes that I'm just a disease with a body. I like to cook, too. Nothing specific - I like to find stuff that looks good on Allrecipes and try it out. Sometimes it's really good. Sometimes, I give myself a talking to for wasting money on such cr*p.

What do you draw? Abstracts, figures, landscapes,???? What medium? Do you have pictures?

1994: Diagnosed with FSGS
September 2011: On transplant list with 15 - 20% function
September 2013: ~7% function. Started PD dialysis
February 11, 2014: Transplant from deceased donor. Creatinine 0.57 on 2/13/2014

Thinks everyone for the warm welcomes. I haven't drew anything in a  while because I also have a 2yr old who knows the world revolves around him lol and cooking basically consist on whatever he'll eat lol. When I get  little breaks from him I like to cook the things I like that he don't. I really like grilling

Ah, grilling. Now I know we have something in common.  I am a great outdoor/camping cook.  I have cooked full Thanksgiving meals in a fire pit.  I live in Southern California so I can grill pretty much year round.  Welcome to the site! I am a single dad of 3.  I have been on dialysis for 4 1/2 years.
