Hey cdwbrooklyn,

NZ is pretty stuffed in that way. Karla has been trying for years to get their train of thought and I'm a newbie in all this but at the end of the day, it's my situation also. I fully support Karla in her endeavor.
And it's as Karla says, there is no understanding and there is only ignorance. Especially when you have a famous Rugby player who is now on dialysis saying how awful it is  :stressed; That annoys me. People see his story and think it's the same for everyone. I know SOME situations are bad, but he doesn't acknowledge that it's not that bad for many more people.
Employers only see what he says. They only know what he says. Then they meet people like Karla and I and it confuses them even more because we don't look 'sick'. To people who don't understand: Dialysis = sick.

Of course, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know :)

CYFS have the same sort of thought as the general public. Dialysis is a bad thing. But they need to see that our choice to do dialysis is our choice to live. We're not unstable emotionally (unless we have bad days), and we are WANTING to live. Just wish they would see that dialysis is keeping us alive, not killing us.

Argh :(

I agree with you.  Hang in there, what is meant to be will be.  :thumbup;

Dailysis patient for since 1999 and still kicking it strong.  I was called for a transplant but could not get it due to damage veins from extremely high blood pressure.  Have it under control now, on NxStage System but will receive dailysis for the rest of my life.  Does life sucks because of this.  ABOLUTELY NOT!  Life is what you make it good, bad, sick, or healthy.  Praise God I'm still functioning as a normal person just have to take extra steps.

Thanks cdwbrooklyn :)

Sorry I haven't been 'active' on here in a few weeks. Been trying to get a job - which is difficult! I've also tried to arrange a meeting with my specialist but that's slow in coming too. GRR!
Fingers crossed, eh! :)
