Re: OPTN/UNOS Policy Proposals for Public Comment
Date: March 2, 2007
Attached for your consideration are seven policy proposals that are being issued for public comment. Six of these proposals address changes to member data submission requirements discussed during recent meetings of the Pediatric Transplantation Committee, Living Donor Committee, Organ Availability Committee, and Organ Procurement Organization Committee. There is an additional proposal from the Patient Affairs Committee recommending a change to the OPTN Bylaws requiring that written notice be sent to candidates and recipients 30 days following the occurrence of specific adverse actions.
Following public comment and reconsideration by the appropriate committee(s), these proposals may be offered for consideration by the committee(s) to the OPTN/UNOS Board at its June 25-26, meeting.
Comments regarding the proposals may be submitted electronically by April 30, 2007.
UNOS appreciates receiving your response to these important issues.
