On December 18, 2010 I was getting ready to take my 5 year old grandson to his wrestling meet and while putting on my makeup noticed a lump on my thyroid. I could tell I was also coming down with something.  Well, I got into the Endo doc and started meds.  Allergy to Synthroid but not the generic version.  I did have a biopsy but it was non conclusive.
About 2 weeks ago I was reading a story on here and my throat closed almost all the way.  Then the thyroid lump area started to hurt, then ears, then thyroid area again.  After a few days it is now doing something that is causing me to cough till I gag.  Yes I am seeing the doc next Saturday but wondering if anyone has ever experienced this.  It was really bad last night when went to bed due the fact that I am a toss & turn person. Every time I turned over I started gagging!  I tried Delsym Cough Drops but no luck.  I'm not sure if it is oozing inside my throat or something has developed on it.  This is the 3rd time since June of last year that it has closed up on me.  I have a feeling he may remove it.  Any ideas to stop it before it starts?
Off to shoveling.  Thank God that does bother my cath.  Arm is not healed yet so can only push with the left one...need snow fairies...LOL

I don't think you should wait for your appt. Call the doc's office first thing tomorrow.

I agree usually if your concerned enough to ask about it here you should see a doctor ASAP just to be safe. If you don't like what you hear question them. Be your own advocate. I have not had that issue but it sounds very annoying!!  Good luck I hope you get it figured out quickly. G.

Had my thyroid and 1 para- thyroid removed on March  5.   Not liking the stery strips as I feel like I am tethered from my neck to my shoes.
This not a fun surgery at all.  Glad I stayed drugged up for a few days. I tried to stop on Thursday but neck and upper back started hurting big time.
I talked with a friend for a little while today to let her know I was home, she said if she were here ( lives in Missouri) she'd be babying me! Bless her heart. She would too.  I couldn't talk long because I started coughing to much and my voice all ready sounded messed up enough, so we got off the phone and my coughing soon subsided.
Just can't wait to get these strip's off my throat!  I'm still tired and very weak. Hope I get my strength back soon.

God Bless all you. Love & Light to all.
