Wishin' I was Fishin'

« on: September 19, 2012, 08:14:11 PM »

I am not sure how many IHD folks remember Tom and Sharon.  Tom's daughter contacted me a few weeks ago when she found a message from me in his email.  Tom passed away Sept 7th, 2011 following his surgery in August, 2011.

Tom, you were a source of comfort to me so many times.  Your willingness to share, to help in any way you could, encourage us, and befriend others was your special talent.  I have missed you and think of you often.  Thank you, my friend, and may you eternally rest in peace.

He was a great support for his wife Sharon, and did her dialysis for her for over 3 years, I think, until she decided to quit, and she passed away in Sept. 2010. So sad Tom didn't make it - he was optimistic about his surgery. Well, I believe they are together now, no more worries.  :cuddle;

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this.

I remember him and his stories of NxStage "adventures" with his wife. I had thought that he had moved on from IHD after she died.

Thank you for letting us know.

Im so sad at this news.  I had hoped he'ed come back to tell us of his new strength, but in heart, i thought this may be what had happened.  I loved that man, and his devotion to his beloved wife.  He helped give me confidence to struggle through my struggles with nxStage and always loved reading of his life.  I hoped he'ed be around along time to share his life with us.  Thank you for sharing this with us.. May his soul rest in peace with God, and his Sharon.

Thanks for letting us know. Tom was an awesome guy, I was always amazed at how well he took care of his wife. He was so good to talk to also. I just thought he had wandered away from us. Sorry to hear of this.

Thanks Loony, I had the chance to talk to Tom on the phone once, he was a great caregiver for Sharon. They are together that's for sure. R.I.P. Tom.
