Hello babycake,
Thank you for this information, is is very much appreciated.
A good diet and knowing (being able to analyse) what we eat, is most necessary in our llong-time ESRF-survival...
Thanks again from Kristina.

P.S.
When my kidneys first failed in 1971 I was lucky because I was advised by a Professor of Medicine to “go strictly vegetarian” ...
... in order to assist my kidneys to “hang on” with their function "a little longer"...
I was very lucky, because my “two little fighters” were “hanging on” with their little function for another 35 years until August 2006,
when I was told at Accident and Emergency, that I was finally in end stage kidney failure with another six months to go until dialysis...
I was devastated and disagreed and decided to find other ways... that was when the Internet came in very handy...
... My husband and I dedicated lots of our time to research on the Internet
and continuously wrote mail-outs to every notable nephrologist in the world for urgent medical help ...
... and they all kindly replied (my e-mail must have taken them a little by surprise,
because at that time Internet-mail-outs were still a complete novelty...)
... but all the nephrologists told us one way or another, that unfortunately my kidneys “had” it
and there was only one way left and that was to start dialysis as soon as possible...
I looked at all these negative medical replies as a very positive negative, because it left no doubt,
where I really stood, medically speaking... I decided then to research (again with the help of the Internet)
for the best ways, how to further slow down the deterioration of my kidney function
with a very refined vegetarian kidney friendly diet... and a very precise and measured daily ”intake of water” ...
More than eight years later I am still going strong... and I am not on dialysis yet...
... The Internet has helped me to get a chance and study every possible way how to slow down the deterioration
of my “two little fighters”, not only with my strict vegetarian diet, but also with my daily exercises and walks...
Mind you, I have no idea how things are going to be tomorrow, but for today I am still o.k.
... It just goes to show what a very positive impact the Internet can have, when all seems to be lost...
