Does anybody pay for their Epogen out of pocket?
Do you know how much it costs?

I did not pay for mine. I understand it costs about $2000 per dose. I did not type too many zeros.

When I was on Procrit before I was on dialysis, 40,000 units cost me and my insurance around $580 - I paid 20%. This was a few years ago, and the cost kept going up, so I figure it's even higher now.

Any idea on why it is so expensive, besides drug company ripping us off?
Is it expensive in other countries?

One of the reasons for me asking is that I have several unused vials that I don't need. I don't need to take it anymore and hate to just throw it away.
I know I can't legally sell it, but does anyone have any ideas what I can do with it?
