Prescription Coverage

My boyfriend is in ESRD and is on Medicare. He has no other insurance and this means no prescription care. Can someone please help me?  I don't even know where to look.  He says that the nurses tell him about Medicare part (enter letter here) but he never really gets the full story and I am scared that they will keep him off the list because he only has regular Medicare.
Any thoughts/comments are much appreciated.

Okay, I'm perpetually confused on this stuff, but...
Part A is hospital coverage
Part B is other med stuff, like doc visits, etc.
PartD is prescription coverage.

They should cover this at the center - or you can go on the Medicare website and work your way through the ESRD information.  And yes, he likely needs all of them if he doesn't want the transplant hospital to boot him.

The first question they asked when I got my CALL was "Is your insurance coverage still the same?"

Just curious - Did you ever get the help you needed with your boyfriend's prescription costs? And if so what did you do? I am kinda looking into the same thing right now that is why I ask.

Also, I know exactly what you mean when you said "My boyfriend never gets the full story" lol because that is EXACTLY the way my man is. Whenever I have a question all I have to do is call my hubbys social worker at dialysis and she explains everything to me in detail. So maybe in the future you can do something like that if you are comfortable with that and the social worker would probably be a good person to talk to about all the questions you have if you didn't resolve them already.

Part D is not part of the ESRD Medicare provision. It has to be purchased, and there are different companies that itcanbe obtained from.  I suspect that it works out cheaper than paing out of pocket for meds., some of which, for example, hectorol, can be pricey.
