Fistula is in

My fistula was put in without too much trouble on Tuesday. I did have a problem keeping anything down for the first 24 hours. Seems to be ok now but then again I have no appetite. The hardest for me is the pain. I have a very high threshold for pain and seldom take anything. Im dealing with spinal stenosis and arth. in my back at the same time. I usually just put my big girl panties on and suck it up. Not so easy to do this time. Doc gave me vicadin for pain but Ive brain washed myself into thinking and thing wil hurt my kidneys. Along with this is the fact my kids dont understand how serious this is. (they are all married with familys). My daughter isnt talking to me because I said I was moving to be closer to services. She thinks I shouldnt have only my son, he older brother, for support. He just got divorced and she figures hes unstable. The reason I want to move is so I dont have to rely on anyone. I live in a small farming community pop 700 now. She is my only daughter. Ive always lived near her. Now she says my son is messing up our family more. (he dad left me for a man 5 years ago)
Last night was my 11 yr old twin grandaughters Christmas program. I left my daughter a message and asked if she cou;d pick me up (5 miles away) as I couldnt drive. She text me back and said she wouldnt have time bur I was welcomed to drive to her house and ride along. I have a standard pickup. Between being in pain and the drugs, there is noway I should drive. so I missed the Christmas program. Im so sad...

So sorry your daughter is having a hard time and giving you one at the same time. I am sure she is scared and feeling like she is losing her Mom. Hopefully your kids will come to realize sometimes you have to come first and this is one of those times. On the upside, glad your fistula went in without trouble - now to mature quickly, without any issues.

This is tough to go through and having family support can be great, if they are actually helping. Sorry about the Christmas program, but I think you were wise to not drive. Best wishes!
