daiysis morning. Lunch LARGE bowl of potato and bacon soup. Bacon,lettuce tomtoe sandwhich w/ heavy tomatoes ( at a restruant) w/ Potatoe chips.  2 or 3 choclate doughnuts over the course of the day. Midight snack will be 1/2 or whole bag or pretzels with jar of dip. Dinner time snack- roast beef (deli kind & and cheese sandwhich.  Heaven's to Mercatroid...

that is not my diet Tom lol. I work too hard on trying to keep my nearing 50 SORTA girlish figure. Note the "sorta" lol. Oh well, I do try..   I knew I didn't have to write anything else except that because most of you guys know what I'm talking about. If not, my husband does not ever..you know what I'm gonna say right? Urrgh... I live in a constant state of worry. On a few occassions he has been inside the door of death atthe hosp. Most recently potssium 9.2. He "coded" 2x in the ER. I am sooooooo afraid this is going to happen again. I'm in a constant state of worry as he drives that he wil go into the parylsis again w/ his muscles fromhigh K, or have a caadiac arrest. (I can ot drive due to meds I am on). We as caregivers ae always checking in  too see if our loved one is breathng by watching thier chest as we walk by. (you on  dialysis may not know that but we do!) Well, I have a great concern that the day is coming of death. I'm sorry to write that, but it is REAL for me. It consumes me. I canonly do my best by makiing the right foods, but I'm no babysitter and of course as an adult, he can do as he chooses. Whew... Thanks for letting me vent that. I needed it today.

My husband and I have been giggling about this all night long.  If my husband was the one with ESRD, he'd be eating like your husband, I guarantee it.

All he was lacking was a hot fudge sundae for dessert....with bananas.

Awww texie, what a nightmare he is.  You'd think that his near-death experience(s) would have taught him a lesson, wouldn't you?  Not least, that you don't want to lose him.  *sigh*

Yes he does Jean. He eats regular meals, but it's all the other stuff he adds in. He meal choices are not that good either. He was doing really good there for a while when he came home from hosp. last time. He still checks for K  if there is a label on the food he eats. Problem is, so many foods don'thave labels.  I knew it was from a cartoon! lol

Well I'd write my usual comments but really... you all know what I think.

I just feel for you TS - as usual - that his seemingly stupid actions not only theaten himself, but you. OMG potato, chocolate and tomato overload and he wonders how his K could get over 7?!! Heavens to Mergatroid indeed!!!!
