I'm getting my catheter taken out on Monday, they've been using the fistula for the last 8 weeks now.  I kinda have mixed feelings, I think it's psychological.  I told the doctor this and he said to me it's better for me to have it taken out.  In the back of my mind I know he's right but I don't know...... :-[

I remember when Jenna got hers out - I never saw anyone so happy to take a shower in my life!
They make really good bandaids now that almost totally keep you from scarring, and Jenna used
those after the hole closed up.

I'm sure once you get it out you will be glad you did. I personally hate catheters so for me I loved getting mine out each time, lol.

Going through life tied to a chair!

I'm glad mine is out, but it is a psychological trip.  You want it out, but then your "back-up" is gone.  If you do have problems with your fistula then you have to get it put back in.  And then maybe they can't get it back in and so they have to go to the other side.  And then.....

"Spiral Worrier"  !!!!  That's me.  It is a lot to think about.  Get it out, and if you have to have another one down the road you will have more leverage to keep it in longer.

Good Luck!   8)
