Do to the winter weather we had they crammed everybody in on Tuesday so they would be closed Wednesday. I get up early go to the D center only 2 cars in the lot. I go up to the door it is locked.I go back to the car to get ready to leave and a tech comes to the door and asked me didn't they call you to tell you first shift is supposed to be here at 12 ? I said no and while we were talking another patient shows up and they failed to call him too. Is it me or is there a lack of care here? Its like I am sorry if things come up and they can't get off work on time and it conformises there life but gee my life is comformised all ready didn't ask for kidney failure didn't ask to be on dialysis my life is screwed up. If you don't like the long hours get another job for crying out loud it is my life you are playing with. So lets get on the same page. Is that too much to ask for?    :banghead;

Found out this afternoon that there was a lot of people that didn't get the call to be there at 12. One of the ladies came up to me and swears she told me and went from chair to chair that day. But she is wrong I only seen her at one char in my sec. Never did come to me and tell me.  :banghead;

When hubby was going to the clinic for his D, this happened to us more than once.  It seemed that they were "over staffed" for the number of patients so they were forever juggling shifts and maybe they would tell you and maybe they wouldn't but swear they did.   :Kit n Stik;

Wow..strange I should read this. My transplant clinic called me today saying that they overbooked clinic on Tuesday and that I could still come on Tuesday but I might end up waiting all day. They said they could reschedule me for Friday. I took the Friday clinic. I figured I am feeling good.....no problems. So 3 extra days should be ok.

My telephone rang at 3.15 this afternoon. It was the renal unit "Your chair is ready for you"

Eh? Would you repeat that I think I misheard? "Your chair is ready for you"

Today is Thursday. Afternoon. I dialyse on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, on the twilight shift and my chair is ready???

"Oh dear!"

Click.

we got forms we were supposed to sing some time ago about how important it was to show up for all treatments and if we weren't going to be there for whatever reason that we should be sure to call to let someone know. and how important that call was, because if we didn't show and they didn't receive a call and couldn't reach us they would call the police who might have to break down our door to make sure we were alright. i'm just waiting for the time they are supposed to know i'm not going to be there and call the police. i think i'll put my lawyer on speed dial................... to say i trust the center about as far as i can throw it is putting it mildly.
