It's been five years now that I have been on the transplant list. Yesterday, decided to call on the transplant team to see how things are progressing. I got the usual spin that in Australia there is no queue but a bit like kidney lotto. I sorta knew that but it was reassuring to see that my name was still on their computer. Have been  told that as a long term waiitee, I am now on a list that doesn't have to perfectly match. Maybe this year...
