I think my neph is confused. The other day he told my center not to stick my graft for another 12 weeks. I'm wondering if he might have me confused with a fistula. He said also lift waits so it gets nice and big, does grafts get bigger like fistulas? I know my last graft we stuck much sooner than 12 weeks. Could he be confused? or is this the protocall with some nephs and accesses no matter what kind they have.

I think he is confused.  You may just confirm this with him.

He sure sounds confused to me- I'd double check that he doesn't have you mixed up with a fistula patient.  Being able to use a graft withing a month is one of the few advantages they have over a natural fistula.

I was never told to lift weights, either.  You can't make it bigger - it's a nylon tube!

I think the docs get confused a lot, always in a hurry lol. This a example of where educating yourself and keeping aware of what's going on with you at all times really comes in. It's never hurts to ask questions and double check on things.
