I met adam lambert for my make a wish!

« on: February 09, 2010, 12:22:25 AM »

Yesterday, we finally got two blunts in!  :yahoo; They've been trying to establish buttonholes for like a month and a half now. And the blunts just wouldn't go in! I got a blunt in my venous once, like two weeks ago. And that was a Friday. So then Monday they decided to use a sharp for whatever reason. And when they tried it again, they couldn't get it in! And the arterial, she was pushing so hard to get in. Like, it was in the track, but it just wouldn't "pop" through. But yesterday they just slid right in! My nurse said she was about to cry!

Oh, and I'm the "guinea pig" for button holes at my center. Some nurses have done buttonholes at other places, just not here. So I got the youngest nurse to do my buttonholes. So everyone was very happy that we got blunts in!

I'm so happy about this! No more pain! I'm still going to put cream on though, to loosen up the scabs. I forgot my cream once, and the scabs hurt really bad to take off.

So yeah. Great news!

:clap; Brianna! Button holes are the best! I've been using them for 6 mos. The arterial has never been a problem. My venus roles pretty bad and about 1 time a month they have to use a sharp. Keep using the cream it won't hurt a thing and does help with the scabs. Sometimes removing the scabs does hurt.

:2thumbsup;  that's fantastic Brianna!  Now if only you could get around to doing them yourself you'll ensure consistency for your fistula and buttonholes as well as bask in the feeling of getting back a bit more control.   :clap;   Not an easy thought at first to get one's head around but once you get used to doing your own there's no going back.   Right tyefly?  Right KimCanada?
