Diagnosed Nov 2007 with Multiple Myeloma. By Jan 2008 was in end stage renal failure and on haemodialysis. Changed to CAPD in April 2008. Now on PD with a cycler. Working very part time - teaching music. Love it. Husband is Paul (we're both 46), daughter Molly is 13.

Thanks, found out my normal surgeon is away till the 3rd of feb and he changes residents on the 22nd of Jan so the new one wont be competent enough to make decisions. so can't get my clearance to use it till then, so it'll have to be the week after, but that's ok

Girlie.... i know how you feel with the neck cath, they are awful. I'm on PD now though so it;s the PD cath i want gone. I made an appt to see my surgeon on the 3rd feb and i'm going to beg him to take my PD cath out qiuckly. I know normally they wait a while but mines of no use really so they shouldn't have a prob taking it out two weeks after HD starts. (he couldn't see me earlier so now i start HD on the 8th Feb, oh well only a week longer feeling yucky)
