It is my personal experience and that of my partner who has ESKF to receive acupuncture each week.   The acupuncturist focuses on "tonifying" the kidneys and the most immediate effect is an increase in energy.
Has anyone else experienced this therapy's benefits?

I have not heard of this type of acupuncture before.
Would you mind explaining in greater detail
what is meant by "tonifying" the kidneys and
is there any noticeable effect in the blood-test-results
and/or one's wellbeing?

Thank you, Kristina.

Hi, Kristina:  Thank you for your response.  Tonifying the kidney is done with acupuncture needles placed in the area of the feet....where specific meridian (sp?) begin.  Once these are in place the therapist can feel pulse quality changes at the level of the wrist.  He feels the pulse status of the liver, kidney and spleen.  To my knowledge there is no blood test level changes however there is definately a change in general body energy and it lasts for persons over different durations....my experience is 3 days.
Also in my personal experience the placement of tubes into the abdomen for feeding purposes set up scars in the area of fascia -- this leads to pain in the left upper quadrant and up along the outside of ribs to the shoulder blade.
Persons who are kidney donors and receivers are at risk of fascia scarring in the healing process.  Timely and gentle manipulation of the area by a qualified acupuncturist could reduce the risk of scars forming.

Everlasting, many thanks indeed for your very concise explanation.
I am always extremely careful about any type of needle-insertion
because of complications that may arise because of my Lupus (SLE/MCTD).
So this I will have to think over very carefully.
Thanks again from Kristina.

I have a personal which doctor that pokes my knees with tiny miniature samurai swords. I had one "treatment" that the effects lasted six weeks. The "treatment" was so strong, that I appeared to lose 100 lb. and it took 20 years off of my apearance. It was so effective that I had offers from several movie studios and was dating several super models. The only problem I had with the "treatment" was it only lasted six weeks and when it was over I just went back to my old self and the supermodels dumped me. (The "treatments" are expensive) I've been thinking about going to the chiropractor and getting an adjustment to my skull.

I have seen acupuncture work for muscle and tendon damage but I am going to need A LOT of couching to believe that it can work for kidneys. (even the part - done at the bottom of the foot is a big pill to swallow) Not fighting or anything just saying.

I am glad that  it gives him/you energy....... I need some of that. :urcrazy;

I think any type of stimulus will give you some energy.....     I think If I had needles placed all over my body I would certainly have some stimulus and energy....   I know when I go into D  and watch when they are sticking me with those big a....ss  needles    I get some stimulus   NOW...   and then I really have alot of energy.... Too bad I cant use that energy doing something..... but sitting in the chair for three hours   really does waste my energy......   just drains me out......  and I am back to where I was in the beginning.......
We all have to keep open minds......  I try to do that too.....  There is alot of body over mind stuff....  and I know that your mind set can change your body....  I dont understand it.....  and I am still trying to believe it....  or am I......

I don't know, hurlock - an awful lot of people swear they get positive benefits from acupuncture.  Even if it's all a placebo effect, it's still an effect.

Some of it does seem a little out there, though.  I had a chiropracter who swore he was improving my  blood sugar control with his adjustments.  I had started going because I had fallen on some ice and was so frozen up I couldn't move my neck.  He fixed the neck, but I thought he was getting too woo-woo with the blood sugar thing, so I canceled the rest of my appointments.  As far as I could tell, the only thing that helped my blood sugar was regular exercise and less sugar!
