I Am Back!!!

Hello, everyone!
I hope I am putting this in the rite place - I have not posted since Mom passed away
in June (Thank You All For Your Kind responses)
but I have been reading posts, and am here to tell you that my hubby is doing
very well - so well that Dr has lowered his time on D Machine to 3 hrs.
It seems that the new Drs we are dealingwith at his new unit are much more
involved in the patients, their history, etc This new dr has done two different
24 hr urine on Les, and if anyone can remember, I had said that hubby's
kidneys failed acutely - having to do with his heart surgery.
Well, dr has determined that even while lowering his time, his creatine is
still dropping - down to 4.47 as of last check.
I am very happy and have a very happy hubby, but I am skeptical, also - and
do not want to be negative to him. dr feels very good about what is
going on with Les, all of his #'s are wonderful! I also know that people
who have had acute failure stand a better chance of regaining function -
rite now hubby's is at 20% or slightly higher. When the kidneys failed they
had no funciton, and creatine was at 18. So, I am very hopeful that
something wonderful may happen - any advice and of course your
prayers and good thoughts would be so appreciated.
Love to all of you,
Anne

Hi Anne and Les!
As I recall Jenna's creatinine was 10 when she started dialysis and it dropped to 3.4 after beginning hemo. But her doctor said the number was based on the job dialysis was doing, and if she cut back or quit then it would spike up again. However, she had been diagnosed with chronic failure, and as I recall Les had an acute case, so hopefully he is getting better! I will watch your experience with great interest and pray for a good outcome! It's so nice to "see" you again!

Such a nice surprise to see your post! Good to hear how Les is doing and it is exciting to see some improvement. How wonderful it would be if he can continue on this course.
It was great hearing from you.
