Hello:  This is my first post on the I Hate Dialysis site.  My primary interest in this site is to network with others who have been introduced to dialysis.  My partner has chronic Kidney failure and before he receives a kidney transplant it is very conceivable that he will have to begin dialysis.  In the meantime we are researching the dialysis topic with the hope that we can be informed participants.
We would very much appreciate hearing from you if you have any tips that will provide us with a smooth transition.
My partner has chosen to receive dialysis by the fistula route and this will be done at a near-by clinic.  Overtime he is hoping that he will gain the confidence needed to have the dialysis done in-home.  We look forward to reading your posts --- from a first glance it appears there is a wealth of information on this very site.
Sincerely  Everlasting

Welcome aboard!

Use the Search facility often.  You'll probably find, as I did, that lots of questions have already been answered before, you just have to dig those answers out.

Welcome to the group.  Here are some links I keep handy:

National Kidney Foundation  http://www.kidney.org/

American Association of Kidney Patients  http://www.aakp.org/

Renal Support Network  http://www.rsnhope.org/

This is an excellent site from DaVita, including info on how to find a renal support group and even start one
http://www.davita.com/kidney-disease/emotional-issues/a/1211

And, of course, y'all can always come back here!

Hello Peleroja:  Loved your welome note.  It would seem you are a very busy individual and it is said that if ever you need something done -- just ask a busy person.
Your resources are very welcomed !
I did touch basis with the DaVita site however found their site to be quite confusing.  I will spend more time at it and find some confidence over time. From my initial scanning there does seem to be some excellent material.
Will chat once again - soon
