Odd Question

I have been doing alot of walking lately. It has been warm here. My sweat has been leaving orange stains on my clothing. At first I thought it was the iron in my water. But no one else's clothing is stained. The longer an item sits before I wash it, the darker it gets. I was wondering if this was a sign of some kind of chemical imbalance.

Yup - it goes along with kidney failure.  The toxins the kidneys would normally clear come out in your sweat when you exercise.  Mine was more yellow than orange, and it smelled like ammonia.  Color safe bleach does wonders for the smell.  Some of the worst of my work out clothes I ended up pitching, though.  It's not nearly as noticeable now that I'm on dialysis.

I e-mailed my nephrologist and will call my family doctor tomorrow. I hope it is nothing.

My family doctor thinks it may be long term use of Bactrim. My nephrologist feels it is Chromhidrosis, which is colored sweat that there is no known cause. Since it doesn't discolor the clothing under my arms because of the antiperspirant use I could try using it all over. Capsacium (don't know if I spelled it right) lotion was also recommended. I guess I will just wear dark colors.

My doctor is thinking that Bactrim may be the culprit also in my slighted elevated liver enzymes.

I love my nephrologist. He tells me all the time, "Miracle drugs keeping you alive do strange things."
I also like you Gail worried that it may be a liver problem. My skin isn"t really jaundice and my eyes are bright and clear. I have noticed a pigment change in my jawline. My face is clear in the morning but by late afternoon it looks like I didn't blend make up. My niece commented on it today.

I stink.  I mean I have a smell all of the time and my dirty clothes basket reeks.   I can smell it, but hubby says it does not bother him. Other people do not notice the smell either, (or at least they are not telling me) must be my nose. What bothers him is the after smell I have on my clothing after dialysis.

I use 1/2 cup of vinegar on Leslie's clothes in the washer.  It might sound weird to add something so stinky to laundry, but it works!!  Not only does it remove all the odors and stains, but it also acts as a softener.
