I am going to have hernia surgery at the end of the month.......  at least I think I will.... I am concern with the surgery....  does surgery decrease kidney function....... my GFR is 15 when is down from last month of 24.....  I have not even had a fistula placed yet....so I dont want to loose everything and have to go on emergency dialysis..... and have a catheder put in my chest or where ever they put that stuff....   Should I have surgery now or wait... my doctor told me to get everything done that I can  so I can be evaluated for a transplant......  Seems like always hard choices...
