I have been on hemodialysis for 10 months and have had 3 fistulas and a graph,  We are talking going to PD now. Has any one had this experience and how has your diabetes reacted to PD?  Thanks Loads for being here for us.

My doc discourages any diabetic from doing PD.  The sugar in the solution can do horrible things to your glucose control, plus the weight gains can be astronomical.  One of the diabetics I know gained 50 pounds the first year from doing PD.  I've also struggled with glucose control at times, so I didn't figure I needed to make it worse.  Hemo was my choice.

"Asbestos Gelos"  (As-bes-tos yay-lohs) Greek. Literally, "fireproof laughter".  A term used by Homer for invincible laughter in the face of death and mortality.
