My kidney's failed a month after I gave birth to my beautiful daughter becaused the doctors mis-diagnosed me when I had gallstones which went into my pancreas causing pancreantitis. Now im just waiting to be put on the transplant list
I'm very thankful to have a chance to see my lil girl grow up !!

Yup. The anemia and hormone changes that come along with dialysis can do a real number on a woman's reproductive system. If all your labs stabilize, it may come back. Do not go off birth control, though - just because your period is temporarily MIA, doesn't mean the parts might not work!

Same thing happened to me! I rarely had cycles.. maybe once every 4-8 months. Then I got a transplant and about three days letter - bam.. period. I would really rather do without those!

I am not even on dialysis and my cycle is erratic. I don't get them for 4-5 months and then I do and they last 2 weeks. Much prefer not to have them at all. Doesn't really help the anemia having them that long. If I were you, I would enjoy the time out!!

Mine stopped 1 year before I went on PD. So weird how the body works. It has a mind of it's own.

Mine got a little weird a few months before I transplanted. Having never on dialysis, I'm not sure of that answer. But even four months post-transplant I'm still not back to my normal cycle. I'm going like 11-17 days in between when i normally went 23-25 days. My actual "cycle" is normal, but the time in between is shorter. I go to my gyno tomorrow for a regular check-up and I'll ask her what is up.
My guess to your answer is yes it's normal because dialysis and everything associated with dialysis (including ESRD) does strange and horrible things to your body. Hang in there.

Before starting dialysis, as my function got worse and worse, my period would come further and further apart and be shorter and shorter. I just started dialysis 3 weeks ago and the period I had (if you can even call it that!) 2 weeks ago lasted 1 1/2 days and was just spotting. Now I'm waiting for it to stop completely! I used to take Seasonique birth control, where you only get your period 4 times a year. I had to stop taking birth control because my diabetes was becoming too advanced and was causing problems with the bc. Boy do I miss those days! Embrace the freedom!
