:flower;  Hello, I am a dialysis nurse (LPN) in central IL.  I got my license in '01 and started working dialysis in '02.  I didn't really know much about dialysis before I started, but now I really enjoy my job.  I did start working in a hospital, long term care, after my second daughter was born but soon found out I missed dialysis.  My RN who taught me dialysis told me about a job opening at a different clinic with her and did not hesitate to go back.  I've been in the dialysis field for about 5 years and couldn't imagine doing anything else.  The patients and staff are like a big family.  Even though nurses are not supposed to become attached to their patients, it tends to happen anyway when you spend more time with them than you do with your own family   :)  We are excited for our patients when things go well, especially when they get "the call" for a kidney!  And we give support for the families of patients who pass.  I was told about this site by one of our patients and thought I would come by and check it out, it seems like a great way for people who have been affected by dialysis to talk to others in the same boat.
