MASSACHUSETTS (WABC) -- You might be planning your holiday shopping, hitting the stores on Black Friday. But there's a woman in Massachusetts who's given her fiance the best gift of all - the gift of life.

He already had her heart. Now, Matthew House has his fiancee's kidney.

When Elizabeth Kelly found out she could help her fiance by give him one of her kidneys, she never hesitated.

"I'm so happy I can give him this opportunity to not have to be on dialysis for four days a week and work the rest of the other days," she said. "I just love him so much."

Matthew came down with pneumonia two years ago, complications from that led to kidney failure. But now, two days after surgery, he's doing great. His kidney function is normal already, and it's only been 36 hours after the transplant.

The couple has been dating for more eight years, and Elizabeth's act of selflessness is a true measure of the couple's deep love for each other.

"For her to do something like that for me, to make my life better is amazing, you know?" Matthew said. "It's so selfless that she just wants to see me feel better."

They may share the same hospital room, but forever will share a bond that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

"I love her, you know what I mean?" Matthew said. "She means so much to me. Now we have such a bond, going through an operation like that, not even being married is the same kind of bond you can get from this."

As they both recuperate in their hospital beds, they both know how lucky they are to have each other, and Matt will forever be grateful.

"There's not, definitely not a lot of girls that will give you an organ to save your life or make you feel better," Matthew said. "And now I have a girl organ in me. Maybe I'll start watching Oprah."

And according to doctors, Matt is expected to make a full recovery and should go on to lead a normal life.

The couple plans to get married next year.
