Hi Guys,  :waving;

I am finally back home. My new PD cathather had to be removed. It was only 2 weeks old. I ended up getting an infection in the tunnel. Impossible to treat the docs say. I got sick as a dog!! I was in the hospital for 5 days. I had a temp and my creatine went up to 10.  :puke; You know what I was doing a lot of.  :puke; I got a hemo cath put in and have done 2 hemo dialysis treatments. UGH that is no fun. My 2nd treatment I almost passed out. I stood up too fast. Today I feel like a truck an over me. Docs say I can try PD again in about a month once my stomach heals up. In the mean time I am going to clinic to do hemo. Blah!  :P

Kidney Transplant where are you?!?!?

So sorry about the rough time you've been having BrightSky.  I hope you can tolerate the hemo until you are able to try PD again.  Hang in there, as hard as it is.   :cuddle; :flower; :cuddle;

Very sorry to hear about your catheter tunnel infection.  Unfortunately, that type of infection is extremely difficulty to cure and can be very dangerous.  I am very glad you got through it safely and that you can now look forward to trying PD again in the near future.

Keep us updated!  Better days are ahead!   :cuddle;

 :flower;  Hugs Brightsky

I hope you are able to go back on PD soon.   :cuddle;

Any ideas on how you got the infection? Did they replace the catheter at the time of removal?
I have been lucky so far (touch wood) and have not had any infections.

They don't know what caused my infection. My doc thinks it could have been the predsinone I am still on. Who knows. I just hope it doesn't happen again.
They plan on waiting until my stomach heals up to try putting in another PD cathather.
I am starting to feel a little better...not as wiped out.
