Stats for Life Span In Center vs Home

I remember reading that in center patients die at a rate of 20% per year and that home dialysis patients fare much better -- in 10 years 70% are still alive. Now I can't remember where I read it!! It was what persuaded me that my husband was not going to be an in center patient. Not just that I worried something would happen in center and cause his death, but also I worried about him seeing that so many of the very ill were dieing around him. Now I'd like to locate the source of that info to pass along to a patient getting ready to have fistula surgery and I can't remember where I read the stats!! Anyone know where I read that or know how to go about finding it?

Well I would say that the main reason so many die in the center is that those are the people that are too old and don't have anybody to take care of them. so I would say around 60- 70 and 80
Now people who do it at home I would say there around 20-30-40-50 maybe 60 they still have husband, wife to take care of thme and help at home and that's why the life span is so diffrent.

ya, most people who are incenter are not well enough to dialyze at home or live alone so they don't have a partner. While people healthy enough to do it are usually younger, I would think.
