....my gonads! If we are in company I have to leave the room for a good scratch.

Also, 25% of all intense itching in dialysis patients cannot be explained by high phosphorous levels. While on dialysis, I was always complaining of extreme itchiness, in response to which the nurses would look at the phosphate level, find it normal, and wonder what was going on. I finally researched the topic and discovered that the sensation I was having could be idopathic -- i.e., otherwise unexplained in dialysis patients.

I calmed a lot of my itchiness down by switching to dove soap. It really helps.

for what little this might be worth... I too have intense itchiness. It drives me insane. I asked a friend who's had three transplants and he told me he had the same problem. When he was little, his family called him Cricket because he was alway rubbing his legs together! Boy do I know what that's like! For a while I had open sores from scratching my skin so much.
My solution is to take Benedryl (or the generic substitute). I take three 25 mg tabs at night and that spares me enough so that I can sleep.
I suspect it's from the build up of toxins in my blood, getting trapped in the capillaries because it's mostly in my lower legs, hands, and feet.

You may want to try and get some sun.
I have friends who have found some relief after they regularly went to the beach or used a UV lamp at home.
