Please do not let another patient get you worried about having lines in. I have now been using Tesio lines here in the UK, in my neck for nearly 8 years now. You do not need luck monrein everything will be OK

Monrein, good luck with your catheter. Just for your information, I had the exact same catheter placed in February. I was awake during the procedure and everything went perfectly. The doctor who put it in was a resident and it was his first time placing one. My surgeon is a professor at a teaching hospital and he guided the resident step by step. My surgeon removed the catheter this Monday. During hemo, I did have a few times when this catheter did clot, but they have something they put into the cath to clear it when it clots, so no worries. Personal message me if you have any questions or just want to talk about it. Hang in there! Mikey

Best of luck, Monrein. I hope the operation goes smoothly, that you get to overhear amazing surgeon-chat and your fistula matures beautifully and soon.

My mom's neph was going to put a catheter in her neck if she had to start dialysis before the transplant....I am hoping those cross matches go well!! Good luck to you and I hope the procedure is quick and painless. I can understand you being nervous, anybody else would be...bug hugs to you!

Thanks everyone. The new line is working really well now and I'm up to 4 hours at a 400 pump speed. I appreciate the good wishes. (And Twirl...you know that comment was specifically designed to give you a laugh)
