EDIT: Sorry, i forgot about the kids that might visit this site (i  didn't, i'm just a ****)

I've been getting really odd physical feelings for about 8 months now. Pins and needles type sensations all over my body, it can make me feel sick and unstable. The worst time is if i sit down for more than an hour or so, i find it hard to get back up. I'm 22 by the way and have been treated for kideny failure with HD (High Definition television ;D ). I went along for the twighlight shift as usual (twighlight is the greek for torture) and i notced straight after they hooked me up, i was recirculating the fluid they push into my arm to kick start the cycle. No blood was being taken from my arm. They tested for recirculation......

....80% recirculation. I've been getting 20% dialysis for god knows how long (god doesn't exist). "No wonder you've been feeling rough thom"..haha, those silly old and fat nurses.  :clap;

Had the op today to widen my fistula with an *un natural and un compfortable* ballon which was fun. I'm sick to death of this (death=optional).

Funny thing i've been going swimming 3 times a week for a while and managed to keep up with university and a normal social life, untill i had a break down and ended up being sectioned, but i'm "dealing" with that, haha life is peachy (*doo doo* type peach with deases that relys on the other peaches for nutrience and everything). Don't like the swearing? There isn't any.  8) :boxing;

Banned.

Thanks thom!

I am sorry about you not getting sufficient dialysis, wasn't this reflected in your labs? I hope you get better results after the fistula torture (didn't they give you something for pain?? ?? )

Keep up your humor and hang in there !  :cuddle;

That's a good reason to be depressed.
Now that they figured out you haven't been dialized properly, maybe things will start getting better when they do it right.
Educate yourself about dialysis so that you can be in control of what's going on. Fell better soon.

I can definitely understand your feelings and I hope things get better soon. It's OK to rant that is why we are here.

Thom- I know how you feel- I am 22 as well. I have known about my kidney disease since I was 13. I have been doing dialysis for just over a year now and have a fistula. I am just now starting to feel very nauseated at times during the day. My hands will fall asleep, etc. It's good that you are staying active and going to school, I am in college as well. Don't worry about venting here- we all do it :grouphug;

20% dialysis? Whoops. Hope you start feeling better soon. Glad you figured it out... but wish one of the people who get paid to know this stuff had been on top of it.

That was tough Thom no wonder you felt under the weather. But your sense of humour about it cracks me up, in fact come and join the Kingdom Thread (Any more Brits out there on Dialysis) i'm sure you could make it crazier than it already is!
