:welcomesign; :bestwishes; I may be in the wrong section, if I'm in the wrong place please forgive me.About 6months before i got my transplant i had started a support group ran by dialysis patients for dialysis patients, and not to seem like i think dat I'm hot stuff but for I think the first time in the history of the state of Delawere we will have our own kidney walk. Along with the national kidney foundation of Maryland myself and the other members of the support group we did what a social worker @ fresenius told us would NEVER happen because basically no one wanted to help or get involved,BUT YET SHE TRIES TO TAKE CREDIT for helping start the group. When in all honesty she came to me one day and told me that she would be unable to help me start this group and i made a phone call to Karen, the dialysis manager here @our local hospital (KGH),and she called back with in an hour and informed me that I had my room for the group starting the next month and we have been going ever since. I feel very proud about what i have done, because when i started on dialysis no one was there to let me know dat i would have good days an bad days or how to deal with the fact that i may spend the rest of my life hoked up to a machine, so i said that i would start a group that would help others not to have to go through and maybe make life easier than it was 4 me 7yrs ago.Even after my transplant I'm still running the group and trying to help the NKF of Maryland start some groups in the Baltimore area. I wrote this to let everyone know that you can do ANYTHING you want if you set your mind to it  :2thumbsup;  :thx;

YAY!!!  My nephrologist's wife (she had a kidney transplant 10 yrs ago), and a few other people have started a support group here too.  We went to the third meeting last Tuesday.We love it!!!  We have guest speakers every meeting...my nephrologist was first, then the social worker, and last week the pd nurse.  I do know that we are going to have some people from Lubbock Covenant Medical Center  come in July I think.
