Hey everyone - haven't been here in a bit as i have gone back to school to try my hand at a new career. I have awesome news - 2 weeks ago i got a call from the coordinator saying that someone had come forward and has offered to donate her kidney! :bow; :yahoo; I was very excited and had tissue typing done and got a call yesterday saying that so far everything is matching with the donor and that i need to go in for more tests in 2 weeks. About a month ago i sent out an email to the alumni director at the college i went to and she sent out a mass email and one of the people i went to school with came forward. I am keeping my fingers crossed that everythign will fall through and that maybe by next year i'll have a new kidney and will be off of dialysis. Off to do my last exchange and hopefully get some sleep tonite. i had forgotten how hard it is to be active all day as it has been a while but i am glad my life seems to be turning up for a change...it's about time after all the crap i've been through the past few years.

That's really great! I have heard that alumni contacts, neighborhood associations and church connections are good places to find donors. Thankfully the director followed through and got your story told. Good luck!
