I read once on the internet that one unit was inviting a craft person to come in and teach patients one handed crafts that they could do while on dailysis....
my social worker thinks I'm   :urcrazy;
but I remember thinking that would be great for our unit
does anyone know anything about this
all my crafts take two hands and needles
it would cut the boring time at dialysis for me
I read, eat and watch televison but I'D love to do crafts
 :sir ken; ( love this little fellow)

Any kind of drawing, sketching ideas.

You can actually bead with one hand using a flat tray to hold the beads. (Like one of those pencil holder cases.)
Just can't tie off anything.

If you have access to clay you can make slabs (like tiles) and carve into the clay one-handed.

Hmmm....I'll think some more about this.

Paint mini paintings?  Paint by number?  You'd just have to set up the paints ahead of time.  I sculpt with polyclay when I'm on, but I've got an upper arm graft, so I can still use both hands, as long as I don't move the upper arm much.  I hold the sculpture in my left, and work with my right.  I'm on home dialysis, though, so I have room with a huge table to spread out my supplies.  I've also tied quilts, cut quilt squares, and done other sewing projects.  You learn to hold everything still in one hand, and move the other as needed.

You can make gift cards using rubber stamps if you tape the card stock to a clip board so it doesn't move around.

I wonder of you could practice cake decorating techniques one handed on a board while at dialysis?
